PUGILA: A LANDSCAPE THAT RESTORES

LIVING BY LAND, LIGHT & TIME

Puglia unfolds across nearly 400 kilometres, stretching from the northern plains to its southern most edge once described by the Romans as finibus terrae, the very end of the land. Embraced by the Adriatic and Ionian seas, its coastline is a tapestry of luminous beaches and hidden coves, where crystal waters meet ancient stone.

❋ OLIVE GROVES & OPEN LAND

Ancient olive trees define the landscape, offering shade, stillness, and a deep sense of continuity. The land moves slowly here, creating space to breathe, walk, and simply be outdoors without agenda.

❋ WHITE TOWNS & LOCAL LIFE

Nearby hill towns and villages reveal a way of living rooted in simplicity and craft. Morning coffees, local markets, and evening passeggiatas unfold at a human pace, inviting gentle connection rather than distraction.

❋ FOOD AS RITUAL

Meals in Puglia are moments to gather and linger. Local produce, olive oil, and seasonal cooking turn everyday eating into a grounding ritual — enjoyed at home, in nearby trattorias, or outdoors beneath open skies.

❋ SEA, COUNTRYSIDE & SPACE

From rolling countryside to the Adriatic coast, the landscape offers variety without rush. Days can remain close to home or extend outward always returning to quiet, privacy, and ease.

TRAVEL BY AIR

Puglia is served by two main airports, making the region easy to reach from across Europe.

Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI) is best suited for the north and central areas, including Bari, Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, and nearby Matera in neighbouring Basilicata.

Brindisi Salento Airport (BDS) offers the most convenient access to southern Puglia, with easy routes to Lecce, Ostuni, Otranto, and the beaches of the Salento Peninsula.

Both airports receive seasonal direct flights from key European cities such as London, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, and Zurich. Guests travelling from further afield typically connect via Rome or Milan before continuing onward.

Airport transfers

After a long journey, many guests prefer to avoid the drive themselves. We are able to organise pre-booked taxi transfers to offer a simple, comfortable alternative. A trusted local company will meet you on arrival and take you directly to your villa, ensuring a smooth and relaxed start to your stay.

If you would like to arrange a transfer or learn more, please get in touch with us. To help us assist you efficiently, we ask that you share the following details:

  • Flight number and arrival time

  • Group size and composition (including children and ages)

  • Luggage requirements.

PUGLIA BY SEA

TRAVEL BY SEA

Although Puglia is not commonly reached by ferry from elsewhere in Italy, the region is an important hub for international sea routes, particularly from Greece and the Balkans. Regular ferry services operate to and from ports such as Bari and Brindisi, with connections from destinations including Corfu, Igoumenitsa, Patras, and Durrës. These routes can be a practical option for guests travelling with a car or planning a longer journey through Southern Europe.

Ferry schedules and availability can vary seasonally, and sailing times may change depending on demand and weather conditions. For this reason, we recommend planning ferry travel well in advance, particularly during the summer months.

FERRY ASSISTANCE

If you are considering arriving by ferry or require support arranging sea travel as part of your journey, please get in touch with our team. We would be happy to advise on suitable routes, timings, and onward travel to your villa.

PUGLIA BY LAND

TRAVEL BY LAND

Puglia is well connected to the rest of Italy by both high-speed and regional rail services, making train travel a practical option for guests arriving via the mainland.

Direct services run from Rome and Naples to key destinations including Bari, Brindisi, Lecce, and other regional towns, with Frecciargento and InterCity trains offering a comfortable and reliable journey. Connections are also available from Milan, Bologna, and Florence, with travel times typically longer — around seven to nine hours from Milan to Lecce.

Travelling by rail can be an excellent choice if you are combining Puglia with time in other parts of Italy, or if you prefer to avoid domestic flights and enjoy a more relaxed journey through the country.
